WAYNE, NJ  Passaic County CASA for Children is making the holidays brighter for Passaic County children in foster care through the organization’s annual holiday drive.

"The holiday drive helps the children have a positive holiday experience, despite being in foster care," Program Manager Gina Cetta said. "They deserve a normal childhood, which includes presents at the holidays."

The Wayne-based non-profit is collecting unwrapped toys and gifts for children of all ages who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care due to abuse or neglect. With the help of the Passaic County community, the CASA Holiday Drive will be able to provide holiday gifts to more than 600 children in the foster care and child welfare system this year.

For the 2019 Holiday Drive, Passaic County CASA specifically needs more baby toys, baby clothing, personal electronics, headphones, legos, craft supplies, dolls of diverse ethnicities, wallets, purses, jewelry, and lotion sets.

Passaic County CASA also needs gift cards to local movie theaters, restaurants, and retailers which are popular requests of teenagers in foster care, as well as wrapping paper, tape, ribbon, boxes, gift bags, tissue paper, and gift tags.
