On Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s will host “Celebration of Beauty” event highlighting beauty inside and out with Passaic County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). The special event, commemorating National Adoption Month, will feature complimentary makeovers at the department stores in Willowbrook Mall, 1400 Willowbrook Mall, Wayne. In addition to the makeovers, there will be a short speaking program at 10:30 a.m. where Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s will donate $3,500 to Passaic County CASA in support of the organization’s mission to provide an advocate for every child in the county foster care system. Both stores will also have information tables for shoppers interested in learning more about getting involved with CASA.
Passaic County CASA is a fully independent 501(c)3 non-profit that recruits, screens, trains, and supervises volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children in the foster care system. The role of a CASA is to advocate for the children’s best interests until they are placed in a safe, permanent, and loving home. Currently, the organization has 125 volunteers who serve more than half of all children in the Passaic County foster care system.
