WAYNE, NJ – Elks Lodge #2181 held their 2nd annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony this past Sunday to launch the holiday season.

The event featured an amazing array of lighted trees, structures and vehicles including Wayne Fire Company #1’s lit-up Water Rescue Rig and Wayne Fire Company #4’s lit-up fire truck. But it was the Salamone Brothers lit cement mixer trucks, blazed in thousands of led lights that outshone them all.

With only one month till Christmas, Santa came early, greeting each child at the event, posing for pictures and gifting them a special souvenir of their visit: a Santa Claus Christmas Book that was donated by American Heroes Smokehouse in Wayne.

Wayne Town Councilwoman Aileen Rivera was the Chairperson of the event. “It was such a delight to see all the children smiling as they saw the lights on the lodge, the pavilion, the Christmas trees and the trucks!” she said with a big smile of her own. “All the adults also enjoyed this wonderful event, and I want to thank everyone who brought food to be donated to the Wayne WIN food pantry.

Former Exalted Ruler and current Esquire of the Elk’s Lodge, Kathy Payne said: “I want to thank Aileen [Rivera] for the wonderful Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. It was a great evening, for our Elks Lodge and our Community.”
