WAYNE, NJ - Mayor Chris Vergano delivered sobering news this afternoon with a video message. “As of this afternoon, we have five positive tests of our residents,” said Mayor Vergano in a video announcement to the town.

“We have a 71 year-old Female, a 48 year-old Female, a 25 year-old Female, a 58 year-old, year-old Male, year-old 87 year-old Female,” he said.

The Mayor is not allowed to disclose where they live and who they are. He did say that the Wayne Health Department was contacting anyone who may have been in contact with these residents.

“Two days ago, we had one, yesterday, we had two and today we have five,” said Vergano. “I’m sure the number is going to grow.”

Because of this, Vergano announced changes to how the Township will work moving forward. See Video attached to this article.
