WAYNE, NJ – Mayor Chris Vergano broadcast his last daily video Coronavirus update on June 3, but the data of new COVID-19 positive cases and deaths have continued.  Here is a recap of the numbers from June 11 - June 18

The state of New Jersey has reported to Wayne Township four deaths during the past week.

  • June 11: Zero
  • June 12: Zero
  • June 13: Zero
  • June 14: Zero
  • June 15: Zero
  • June 16: One
  • June 17: Two
  • June 18: One

Five deaths were reported in the previous week.

The Township’s total deaths due to COVID-19 is now 177

There were 26 new positive cases for Wayne reported during the last week

  • June 11: Eight
  • June 12: Eight
  • June 13: Zero
  • June 14: Zero
  • June 15: Two
  • June 16: One
  • June 17: Three
  • June 18: Four

Twenty-five positive cases were reported in the previous week.

Number of Wayne residents who have tested positive: 1,410

Number of Wayne residents who have tested negative: 4,500

Saturday, June 20 marks the last day the COVID-19 testing site is open at William Paterson.  Mobile testing sites are open across Passaic County at various dates. Check the County website for more information: www.passaiccountynj.org.

On June 25, mobile COVID-19 testing will be offered for free, through Passaic County at the Willowbrook Mall near the old Sears wing from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The first hour is for first responders only.
