WAYNE, NJ - On November 15 at 6:04PM Wayne Fire Dispatch was notified of a possible propane tank on fire close to a house on Oakwood Drive near Cedar Pl.  A minute later fire Companies 5 and 2 were dispatched.  Company 1 was dispatched soon after as a second call reported that the house had caught fire.

At 6:10 the first chief arrived on scene and declared a working structure fire with a heavy fire load on the left side of the house. Not long after, Company 3 was added for additional manpower.

“The initial attack on the fire was a quick exterior attack followed quickly with a second attack line through the front door to extinguish all interior fire in the house and attic,” said Fire Commissioner Bob Minarick. “The fire in the attic was very stubborn and significant overhaul was necessary to dig it out.”
