PATERSON, NJ - Paterson firefighters pulled two sleeping occupants from a burning home early Sunday morning.

According to a statement, the fire started at 81 Berkshire Ave,  a 2 1/2 wood frame house and extended to two attached units through the floors.

Members of the Paterson Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 6:49 a.m. and, despite the danger presented by the sagging floors made of lightweight building material, immediately gained entry, while others began an offensive operation to beat back the flames.
