FAIRFIELD, NJ — Two individuals—Roger Jacobs, 21, of Paterson and Shaquan Capron, 25, of Newark were recently arrested in Fairfield for having active arrest warrants issued by the Paterson Municipal Court. In addition, Capron was also charged with possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana.

At approximately 4:22 p.m. on June 11, Officers David Lagan and Christopher Yoo were on patrol on Lane Road when they observed a 2003 Nissan with improperly tinted windows. According to police, the vehicle was then stopped, with Capron and Jacobs being passengers in it.

As the officers were speaking with the driver and occupants, they detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle, police said. Further investigation revealed the discovery of suspected marijuana in the possession of Capron.

According to police, a further check of both Capron and Jacobs revealed that both had active arrest warrants issued by the Paterson Municipal Court. Both were placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.

Both were eventually released on their own recognizance pending court action.
