NEWARK, NJ - The Caldwell varsity baseball team continued to score runs in bunches in a 15-1 victory on Monday over Bloomfield Tech in Weequahic Park.

The Chiefs (6-1), who have scored 46 runs in their last four games, put the game away with an 11-run fifth inning to invoke the mercy rule. Jon DeMattheis drove in four runs with a double and a triple, Mike Cavallo collected three hits and Frank Gencarelli doubles twice for Caldwell.

Winning pitcher Bryce Bayard allowed four hits and no earned runs in five innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
