NORTH CALDWELL, NJ -- West Essex scored seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to erase a one-run deficit and hold on for a 7-1 softball victory over Montclair on Wednesday.

Tyler Sorrentino pitched a complete game six-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk for West Essex (3-5). Joe Connington went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI for the Knights, who scored three runs in the fifth inning and then four more runs in the sixth.

Vincent Panzarino contributed an RBI single and Sorrentino had a hit and scored two runs to help his own cause. Montclair had beaten state-ranked Seton Hall Prep just a day earlier.
