Baseball: West Essex Wipes Out Cedar Grove, 10-0

CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Oliver Ortman pitched a five-inning five-hitter and knocked in four runs to lift West Essex to a 10-0 baseball victory over Cedar Grove on Wednesday.

Ortman went 3-for-4 at the plate and, on the mound, struck out six and walked none for West Essex (6-4). Ian McLaughlin and Vin Salvatoriello each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Knights, who scored six runs in the third inning to break up a scoreless tie.

Matt Cesare contributed an RBI double for the Knights, who racked up a total of 11 hits in five innings.

VERONA, NJ - Tom Fleming, varsity track coach and teacher at Montclair-Kimberley Academy, died suddenly on Wednesday night.
