WEST CALDWELL, NJ -- Matt Fermo had a dominant game on faceoffs and Charlie Pierce and Matt DiBlasio scored three goals apiece to held Caldwell's boys lacrosse team defeat Ramsey, 15-4, in the quarterfinal round of the North Jersey, Group 1 state tournament on Saturday.

Fermo prevailed in 16 out of 17 faceoffs, Pierce contributed four assists and DiBlasio assisted on three goals for the Chiefs (12-7), who outshot Ramsey, 29-11.

Jason Fusaro, Kyle Ross and Peter Murray each scored two goals in the victory, Connor Hapward made four saves and Christian Wagner made three saves. Dan Amores had a goal and two assists, and Tyler Krisinski and Fermo each scored a goal.
