WEST CALDWELL, NJ - The Caldwell boys lacrosse team won its ninth consecutive game on Tuesday, defeating Millburn, 5-3, in the quarterfinal round of the Essex County Tournament.

Caldwell (9-3) scored the only goal of the first half, then outscored the Millers, 3-1, to open a 4-1 lead going into the final quarter. Vincent D'Agostino scored two goals for the Chiefs, who got one goal apiece from Kyle Ross, Joe Valenti and James Miller. Valenti and Miller also contributed assists.

Frankie Genello made 10 saves for Caldwell, which outshot Millburn, 15-13. Spencer Brown, Owen Fried and Nolan McCarthy had the goals for Millburn (6-7), which got 12 saves from Jack Gruchacz.
