CALDWELL, NJ - Caldwell College freshman forward Haakon Sulheim (Lillehammer, Norway / Lillehammer) was named to the Daktronics Division II All-East Region second team for men’s soccer, which was announced Monday. Earlier this month, Sulheim was chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year and also was included on the all-CACC first team.
Sulheim made an immediate impact as a freshman, scoring 16 goals in 17 games to rank among the national leaders in goals and goals per game. He ranks second in the CACC in goals, and third in points (32) and game-winning goals (four), including overtime winners at West Chester and Concordia. During the season, Sulheim had five multi-goal games, including hat tricks against Concordia and Molloy. He was selected the CACC Player and Rookie of the Week three times, and also earned ECAC Player of the Week three times.
Caldwell, coached by Asgeir Ofstad, finished the season 7-10-1 overall and 4-7-1 in the conference.
