EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — The Caldwell Police Department surpassed its fundraising goal of $6000 by playing in the state-wide “snow bowl,” a flag football tournament, at MetLife Stadium on Friday benefiting the New Jersey Special Olympics.
According to Lt. Michael Geary, the majority of the $6550 raised was donated by local businesses.
“Officers Rob Adams and Matt DeAngelo are to be commended for putting this together and getting all donations,” he said. “This was our third year playing and we will continue to play each year for this great cause.”
Over the past three years, the police department has raised more than $17,000 for the cause and has also been one of the top-fundraising teams.
The Caldwell officers who participated in this event were Lt. Geary, Officer Rob Adams, Officer Matt DeAngelo, Officer Mike Kraynanski, Officer Nick Adamo, Officer Rob Paxson and Officer Bill Roberts.
