CALDWELL, NJ - West Caldwell township will hold a formal ceremony dedicating the street naming of McNish Way on November 15 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony will be held at the intersection of Clinton Street and McNish Way, in honor of West Caldwell native Specialist James R. “Ronnie” McNish.

McNish served in the United States Army during the height of the Vietnam War. He was killed in action on February 5, 1969 in the Long Khanh province. His helicopter was venturing into enemy territory to pick up wounded soldiers. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star. According to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, McNish’s name can be found on panel 33W, row 66 on the memorial in Washington D.C.

West Caldwell honors citizens who have served in the armed forces and gave their lives by naming a street after the citizen and marking the street sign with a star. All interested residents are welcome to attend.
