Caldwell University Welcomes New Board of Trustee Members


CALDWELL, NJ -  On August 4, Caldwell University announced the appointments of three new members to its board of trustees.

Chair of the Caldwell University board Nancy Costello Miller, J.D. said the university is delighted to welcome John Crawford, founder and principal of the Timely Ideas Corporation, Brian Duffy, a senior business executive, and William Brendan O’Brien, president and CEO of Commercium Technology, Inc.

“Our new members bring wonderful business acumen to the table and at the same time embrace our mission,” said Costello Miller. “It is an exciting time for them to join us as we begin our journey as a university and celebrate our 75th anniversary. We will surely benefit from the depth of their experiences and their insights.”

Crawford has worked with global organizations such as Pfizer, Pearson, ITT and Bristol-Myers Squibb to help design and implement communications that fuel innovation, spread knowledge and improve performance. He was previously a vice president with Electronic Systems Associates (ESA) and worked for a variety of technology service companies including ComTel Debit Technologies, Metromedia Company and ITT Communications Services, where he served in a range of senior marketing and management roles.

Duffy is a senior business executive with experience in general management, finance and operations and expertise in continuous business improvement and turning around underperforming manufacturing companies.  He was previously vice president finance and CFO for The Manischewitz Company, president of the Americas division of IAC Group, chief financial officer for Filippo Berio, and held senior executive positions at U.S. subsidiaries of Groupe Danone, including Lea & Perrins, Inc. and The Dannon Company.

O’Brien founded Commercium Technology in 1998, which provides IT applications and services that support governance, risk and compliance frameworks for organizations. He has more than 35 years in the information technology industry where his expertise has followed mainframe technology, distributed systems, local and wide area networks, personal computers, Internet technologies, cloud computing and mobile devices.

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.
