Caldwell University’s Bomenblit Selected CACC Pitcher of the Week

CALDWELL, NJ – Caldwell University senior Eric Bomenblit (Allenwood, NJ/Wall) was chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 19, the league announced Tuesday. Bomenblit won both of his starts to help the Cougars sweep USciences and Philadelphia last week.

Bomenblit tossed a two-hit shutout with a career-high 12 strikeouts and no walks in a 5-0 victory over USciences on Monday. He then limited Philadelphia to three runs on eight hits, while fanning five and walking two in a 6-3 win on Saturday. For the week, Bomenblit was 2-0 with an earned run average of 1.59 with 17 strikeouts and two walks in 17 innings.

According to Caldwell University, Bomenblit is having a standout senior season, posting a record of 3-3 with an ERA of 2.68. He ranks seventh in the CACC in strikeouts with 44 in 43 2/3 innings, and is 12th in ERA.

The Cougars, who are 10-21 overall and 7-9 in league play, host Felician College in a CACC doubleheader on April 22. The first game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Oval.
