WEST ESSEX AREA, NJ — There was one new case of COVID-19 each in Caldwell, West Caldwell and Roseland on Tuesday, according to data released by Essex County.
There has been a total of 112 confirmed coronavirus cases in Caldwell since the start of the pandemic. West Caldwell has had 266 confirmed cases and Roseland has had 87 cases.
Essex County reported 37 new cases of the virus on Tuesday, for a county-wide total of 18,744 cases of COVID-19. There have been 81,791 negative test results in Essex County. There have been 1,778 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.
New Jersey had 395 confirmed new infections on Tuesday, which brought the statewide total of cases to 171,667 since the start of the pandemic, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 fell below 1,000 as of late Sunday for the first time in more than three months. There were more than 8,000 coronavirus-related hospitalizations at the peak of the outbreak in April.
