According to Trinity Academy, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark formulated a search committee in early June following the retirement announcement of Trinity Academy’s principal, Mary Cassels.

“We were very sad to see Principal Cassels retire,” the Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Newark said. “She has worked with Archdiocese as an educator, administrator, and trusted advisor for decades. We thank her for her many years of service and wish her God’s Blessings as she embarks on new adventures with her loving family.”

The Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Newark also stated that Payonzeck will find a welcoming new home at Trinity Academy and that it is pleased that she has accepted the position.

“We anticipate great things and continued success for Trinity Academy under her leadership,” the office said.
