FAIRFIELD, NJ — Fairfield police Sgt. Frank Tracey and Detective Ian Rasmussen joined more than 200 other law enforcement officers at the Wyndham Hotel in Florham Park on May 9 to begin the 2017 Police Unity Tour. The Unity Tour is a more than 300-mile, three-day bicycle ride that concludes when the officers arrive at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The ride was established to bring attention to and honor the memory of all those law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty. Each rider is responsible for raising a specific amount of funds, which are then donated to the National Law Enforcement Memorial, in order for them to be able to ride. Sgt. Tracey and Detective Rasmussen raised $5500.

This is Sgt. Tracey’s third unity tour trip and Detective Rasmussen’s first.
