FAIRFIELD, NJ — In the midst of Friday’s storm, members of the Fairfield police and fire departments responded to a fire that had spread to two vehicles and a garage by the time officers arrived. The exact cause has yet to be determined.
Fairfield officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a car fire at a Jorgenson Lane at approximately 3:52 a.m., and upon arrival discovered that two vehicles were on fire in the driveway of the residence. According to police, the doors of a detached garage that was located directly behind the vehicles were also on fire.
The Fairfield Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Fairfield Fire Prevention Bureau and Essex County Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation and determined the fire to be non-suspicious, according to police.
