Fairfield to Declare Local State of Emergency at 1 p.m.

FAIRFIELD, NJ - The Fairfield Office of Emergency Management will be declaring a local state of emergency starting at 1 p.m. today and has issued a blizzard update.

The latest projections are snow accumulation of 18 to 24 inches, with snowfall rates of two to four inches per hour expected tonight into Tuesday morning. Winds are projected to be between 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Due to the impending weather, Fairfield Town Hall offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

GARBAGE

There will be no garbage pick on Tuesday and there after Fairfield will resume a normal schedule

PARKING

To ensure public safety during the state of emergency there will be no parking on any street in Fairfield.

GENERATORS

If there is loss of power and residents need to use a portable generator, residents are advised to make sure the generator is outside and well ventilated.
