WEST CALDWELL, NJ — As part of an ongoing milling and paving project in West Caldwell, five more roads, including Washington Ave., Orton Rd., Cascade Pl., Klimback Ct. and Bond Pl., were completed last week.
According to West Caldwell Township Councilman Michael Docteroff, the township held off on Washington Ave. and Orton Rd., two of the township’s main roads, until schools closed, but both were completed by July 12.
Docteroff also announced that the speed tables on Orton Rd. have not yet been replaced, but assured residents that they will be completed well before schools begins in September. In fact, it was initially estimated that there would be a 30-day delay on replacing the speed plates, but Township Administrator Adam Brewer said he is working with a contractor to complete the project more promptly.
“We’re continuing to maintain our roads,” said Docteroff. “We’re trying to as many as possible each year, which is definitely an important thing.”
