NORTH CALDWELL, NJ -- Chris Bell scored four touchdowns to help the West Essex football team defeat Nutley, 42-6, Friday night.
West Essex (5-1) scored two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to take a 28-0 halftime lead. Bell scored on runs of 4 and 17 yards for TDs in the first quarter, then caught a 46-yard scoring pass from Nicholas Ciaglia in the second quarter for a 21-0 lead.
After Nutley scored its only TD in the second quarter, Ciaglia went in on a 1-yard keeper to give the Knights a 28-6 halftime lead.
Bell's fourth TD of the game was aq 46-yard run in the third quarter. The Knights' final TD, also in the third quarter, was their longest of the game, an 84-yard scamper by Joe Visaggio.
