FAIRFIELD, NJ — After observing a 1997 Honda that had a front headlight that appeared inoperable and also failed to maintain its lane, according to police, Fairfield officer Frank Patierno conducted a motor vehicle stop on Sand Road that led to the arrest of four individuals.

On May 5, the Fairfield Police Department announced the arrest of Lina Bachkhaz, 21, of Wayne, Anthony Iudici, 19, of Fairfield, and Robert Tucker, 21, and Jesse Simunovich, 24, both of North Caldwell for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers Jeffrey Dean and David Lagan arrived at the scene to assist.

While speaking with Bachkhaz, the driver, one of the officers observed a glassine fold in plain view in the rear passenger portion of the vehicle, according to police. Further investigation revealed the discovery of nine hypodermic syringes, one glass stem pipe and one glassine fold with suspected heroin residue, police said.

All four individuals were then placed under arrest, charged and later released on their own recognizance pending court action.
