VOORHEES, NJ - On Saturday, sixth-seeded West Essex girls basketball lost to second-seeded Voorhees there in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 Tournament, 61-47. This ends the West Essex girl's basketball season.

Though both teams scored eight points in the second quarter and 24 points in the last quarter, West Essex was unable to make up Voorhees’ eight-point lead in the first quarter and six-point lead in the third, ultimately losing the game, 61-47 by 14 points.

Shannon Bertscha was the leading scorer for West Essex with 19 points.

Allie Best scored 13 points for Voorhees, and had two 3-pointers, while both Payce Lange and Taylor Noll had 10 points apiece. Lange also had 10 rebounds in the game.

Voorhees next plays 13th-seeded Nutley there in the finals on Monday.
