NEWARK, NJ - The West Essex girls basketball team used a 25-point second-quarter explosion to pull away for a 58-18 victory over St. Vincent Academy Tuesday afternoon.

Danica DeFrank scored 15 points and knocked down four 3-pointers for West Essex, which opened a 43-11 lead with a 25-7 splurge in the second quarter.

Olivia Hansson finished with 10 points and four rebounds for the Lady Knights, who opened the game with an 18-4 run. Jessica Coia grabbed five rebounds and Nicole Realbuto came up with five thefts in the victory.
