Girls Tennis: West Essex Beats Bernards for Sectional Title

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - The West Essex girls tennis team defeated Bernards, 4-1, for the championship of Section 2, Group 2 on Tuesday afternoon.

Sydney Nguyen got Bernards (9-8) off to a fast start with a victory at first singles, but West Essex (11-6) won the four subsequent matches. Madison Santaromita and Julia Schwartz won the other two singles matches, and the teams of Danielle Bernstein and Amy Lee, and Caroline Ben Nathan and Jennifer Ben Nathan, triumphed at first and second doubles, respectively, for West Essex.

Essex County Man Found Dead After Shooting Near Feaster Park

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - An Essex County man died Friday night after a shooting in New Brunswick, authorities announced on Saturday.

Tawan Moses, 25, of East Orange, was found dead by authorities at 8:30 p.m. on Throop Avenue near Fester Park, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey.
