This year's Camp Wyanokie outing is set for Saturday June 16 in West Milford.
West Essex area residents are invited to register for the 15th Annual Great Wyanokie Outing.
Camp Wyanokie was deeded to the five West Essex towns of West Caldwell, Fairfield, North Caldwell, Roseland and Caldwell by the Camp Wyanokie Association in 1973.
Visitors can enjoy an old-fashioned picnic by the lake, take a short hike, fish or simply sit back and take in the beauty of nature in Northern New Jersey.
Among the events and activities scheduled for the 2018 Great Wyanokie Outing are from 9 to 1l a.m., a fishing contest with prizes and teacher clinics. Pre-registration is required. There will also be open fishing all day with bait provided. Those planning to fish should bring their own rod and reel.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be games and a free picnic lunch.
There will be games, including a cherry seed spitting contest, bubble gum blowing, hula hoop contests and
a Wolf Howling/Bear Growling contest.
