WEST ESSEX, NJ - On Wednesday, April 10, public schools throughout New Jersey were issued School Performance Reports from the New Jersey Department of Education(NJDOE). Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, the NJDOE significantly revised their annual method of judging the progress of all state schools. For the first time, the NJDOE included a “peer school comparison” for each NJ school which grouped that school with approximately 30 other similar schools in the state.
Peer School Group Lists
West Essex area schools - comprised of schools in the towns of Caldwell, Essex Fells,Fairfield, North Caldwell, Roseland and West Caldwell - were each assigned to peer school group lists. However, Grandview Elementary School in North Caldwell along withJames Caldwell High School and West Essex High School were each assigned two seperate peer school group lists.
