WEST ORANGE, NJ -- After two scoreless periods, the West Essex ice hockey team scored all the game's goals in the third period of a 3-0 victory over Gov. Livingston Sunday night at Codey Arena.
Jack Santoro finally broke the scoreless tie with a power play goal assisted by Connor Hapward and Joe Namyatov to give West Essex (11-10-3) a 1-0 lead. Jake Lewicki made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal.
The Knights capped the scoring when Hapward shot one into the empty net after getting an assist from Clayton Prial.
Jason Albrecht made 18 saves for West Essex. Shane Cook of Gov. Livingston (9-10-4) stopped 25 shots.
