WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Ryan Sanderson, a right-handed pitcher at James Caldwell High School, this week signed a letter committing to attend Ramapo College, where he will continue his athletic career.

As a junior, Sanderson led the Chiefs in innings pitched (50 1/3) and had the lowest earned-run average (1.95) on the pitching staff. He struck out 51 batters.

Sanderson’s body of work in 2019 included a complete-game three-hitter against Lodi with eight strikeouts and one walk in the first round of the Section 2, Group 2 state tournament, and a seven-inning, complete-game four-hit victory over Verona in the regular season.

He also pitched a two-hitter in seven innings to beat Newark East Side in his sophomore season.
