As we reflect on 2016, our district has much for which we are thankful. The Caldwell - West Caldwell community has been exceptionally supportive of its public schools.
As U.S. Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter wrote almost 70 years ago, “The public school is at once the symbol of our democracy and the most pervasive means for promoting our common destiny.” We are very grateful for our community’s recognition of this importance and its willingness to serve as partners in the education of our children.
It was a very successful year for our students and staff. Students in the JCHS Class of 2016 have gone on to a variety of post-secondary ventures, including attending some of the finest colleges and universities in the country, serving in our nation’s military, and entering the workforce.
In 2016, we also completed several important phases of our bond referendum renovation project, including electrical and HVAC work throughout the district, completion of the new data center, and renovation of our athletic fields.
We wish our residents and business owners all the best for a happy and successful new year in 2017.
James Heinegg, Superintendent
Caldwell - West Caldwell School District
