Letters from the Leaders: A Message from the North Essex Chamber of Commerce

Dear Community,

As 2016 comes to a close, it is a time of reflection for many of us. For myself and the North Essex Chamber of Commerce (NECC), it has been an exciting and rewarding year.

All our efforts in community and membership outreach have paid off. Awareness of the chamber in the 9 towns that we serve continues to grow and membership is thriving. We engaged with hundreds of people through events, programs and personal outreach.

As the new year begins, there is much to look forward to. Our goal for 2017 is to continue to bring more business opportunities for our members and greater support for the communities that we serve.

We are excited to be launching the NECC Connection Card in 2017, providing growth opportunities for our members and discounts on valuable products and services to consumers. Proceeds from card purchases will go toward the chamber’s foundation to support the scholarship program and other educational projects.

We are exploring ways to expand the benefits of the foundation to more organizations in the coming year. In April, we look forward to the 17th annual Taste of Essex, where we bring hundreds of people together to enjoy some of the best cuisine around. (Read about the 2016 Taste of Essex HERE.)

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their contributions throughout the year. The success of the chamber is built on the hard work of our board members and committees, and the continued support of our sponsors and our members.

My best wishes to you and your families for health, happiness and prosperity in 2017.

Holly Kaplansky, President

North Essex Chamber of Commerce

Let the Games Begin

I am truly awed by the Olympics.  Watching these superb young athletes on TV inspires me to renew my membership to the gym and pursue my lifelong dream of taking home the gold.

The problem is that in my deluded head, I can see actually see myself standing atop the podium.  I am wrapped in a puffy designer ski coat with a huge piece of bling slung around my neck ...
