LIVINGSTON, NJ — Levine, Jacobs & Company, LLC, was recently honored as one of New Jersey’s "Champions of Good Works" by Commerce magazine and Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ).
The Livingston-based accounting firm, was selected for its 2017 "Food Drive" initiative, which supports two local food pantries: Christine’s Kitchen at Holy Trinity Church in West Orange and the Bobrow Kosher Food Pantry at Oheb Shalom Congregation in South Orange. The program was repeated during this year’s tax season because of overwhelming response to previous collections.
Michael Karu, CPA/CFF, Member, Levine, Jacobs & Company, LLC, accepted the award on behalf of the firm during a gala that was attended by more than 200 business executives in tribute to the kindness and generosity of the business community.

In other company news, Karu also congratulated Kevin Kanouse, CPA, Charles Mitros and Nicole Herlinsky for being promoted to supervisors. Their new responsibilities include overseeing, guiding and training accounting staff; providing the firm leadership with innovative ideas; and serving as the first line of evaluation before work is sent to the partners for final review.
“As our company has grown, so has our professional staff,” said Karu. "Kevin, Charlie and Nicole have proven, time and time again, that they are capable of handling increasingly complex issues and have exhibited the necessary managerial qualities. Their promotions represent the key to our continued growth.”
