LIVINGSTON, NJ — This holiday season, the Livingston Mall partnered with foster homes and community organizations that help children in need to create a Holiday Wish Wall, where children were invited to write down holiday wish in hopes that shoppers might purchase a gift card and grant their wish.
The Livingston Mall, which will display the Holiday Wish Wall in the upper level of the mall until Dec. 20, will deliver the gift cards to these kids so they have them in time for Christmas. For many of these children, this will be the only gift they receive this holiday season, so the mall is trying to make sure that every wish is fulfilled.
The Holiday Wish Wall is currently displayed on the upper level of the mall near Sears.
In order to participate, shoppers are encouraged to take a wish envelope off the wall for the child's wish they would like to fulfill. The front of the envelope is marked with the child's age, first name, a store he or she would like a gift card for, and what he or she plans to purchase with that card.
The shopper can then grab the gift card from the mall’s gift card tower and purchase it from the Mall Office or go to the store directly to purchase the specific gift card. Then, the customer should insert the gift card in the wish wall envelope and bring the granted to wish to the Mall Office.
Although the wish can be anonymous, there is a space on the back of the envelope for the shopper to write his or her contact information so that the child to send a thank you card after the holidays.
