More Than 1500 Participate in Essex County Fall Hazardous Waste Day

CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Essex County's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day attracted 1624 Essex County residents who brought material to be recycled on Saturday. The event was organized by the Essex County Utilities Authority. 

The event gave residents the opportunity to safely dispose of pesticides, herbicides, motor oil, paint, fluorescent light bulbs and other items in an environmentally friendly manner. 

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. examined the items that were turned over with Anthony Ore, Antwoine Jones and Roy Croom, Jr. from MXI of Langhorne, PA. 

Upcoming collection days include Essex County Computer and Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 125 Fairview Avenue in Cedar Grove next to the old Essex County Hospital Center. The first Essex County Paper Shredding Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Essex County Public Works Complex, 99 West Bradford Way, Cedar Grove.
