Partner of Roseland-Based Brach Eichler Authors “The Domino Theory”

ROSELAND, NJ — A local litigation and personal-injury attorney recently authored a book written primarily for trial lawyers called “The Domino Theory,” which provides a step-by-step framework for how to demonstrate any case to a jury, from discovery through closing arguments.

Although Edward Capozzi, a partner at Brach Eichler LLC of Roseland, wrote the book primarily for new trial lawyers, it also offers insight for courtroom veterans in matters of soft-tissue injuries, auto accidents and premises liability, which are core areas of Capozzi’s law practice.

“In essence, each part of a case is one domino in a cohesive cause-and-effect cascade,” said Capozzi. “My book details how to set up each element of any case to keep the jury engaged and invested. That way, when those dominos are knocked down during closing arguments, the inevitable logic of your case is demonstrated to the jury.”

Capozzi, who joined Brach Eichler in July 2016, is a Certified Civil Trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey who focuses his practice on personal injury arising from automobile, premises, product liability and construction accidents. “The Domino Theory” contains discussions and examples covering a range of liability, personal injury and a detailed method for obtaining just settlements and winning verdicts for clients.

The book also includes in-depth information on how to demonstrate proximate cause, prove permanence in soft-tissue injuries, and how to present a winning case to the jury, the defense and the court.

“Critical to success is building credibility and humanizing each case to the jury,” said Capozzi. “Each step outlined in the book demonstrates how to do this in order to maximize the attorney’s ability to obtain justice for his or her client.”
