WEST CALDWELL, NJ - Recently, at the Cloverleaf Restaurant in West Caldwell, Caldwell Environmental Commission Chair Ann Marchioni made a presentation to the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex chapter to raise awareness about the damage being done by adults leaving their cars idling, particularly in front of schools and places where children gather. This presentation was a part of a project currently being pursued by the Grover Cleveland Middle School Builders Club that is being sponsored by the Kiwanis Club.

According to Marchioni, in addition to the significant impact the exhaust fumes have on the surroundings, small children are closer to the source of the fumes that can exacerbate a number of ailments due to the carbon monoxide in the exhaust.

Following the presentation, Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex President JoAnn Dixon presented a certificate of appreciation to Marchioni for her presentation to club members.
