NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company LLC will hold a public hearing on Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. at West Essex High School for the proposed Gateway Expansion Project, which the Roseland Borough Council publicly opposed with a resolution and which Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo has asserted that he is firmly against. Roseland and other municipalities have also recently requested a public hearing for the project.

The project is described as “upgrades to an existing natural gas compressor station and meter and regulating station, including the expansion of the existing compressor station to include one new 33,000 horsepower electric-motor driven compression unit and ancillary equipment, installation of gas cooling equipment, extension of security fencing for new facilities and the construction of a new driveway.”

A public meeting is being held in order to ensure that community members are able to share their concerns and have their questions answered about the compressor station and the proposed expansion.

In a letter to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, DiVincenzo explained why adding a second 27,500 horsepower compressor station would not be appropriate and could even pose safety issues at the proposed Roseland location (563 Eagle Rock Avenue).

Education: A Bedrock of Democracy, Civic Engagement and Economic Prosperity

July 5, 2018

More than 240 years ago, our nation’s founders envisioned a country where individuals could forge their own destinies and not be constrained by the circumstances of birth. Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
