ROSELAND, NJ — With the results of the Borough Council election finalized, incumbent Chris Bardi issued a statement giving thanks to the community on his re-election.
Bardi, a Democrat, and Republican Michelle Tolli retained their seats on the Borough Council in a close election over challengers Matthew Biront (D) and Aristotle Popolizio (R).
In a statement he issued on Tuesday, Bardi, who is Council President, said:
Now that the November 3, 2020 election results are finalized, I would like to take a minute to reflect and provide thanks. I would like to formally thank the residents of Roseland for re-electing me to a second term as a Councilman here in our great borough! I am grateful for your support and for your confidence in me. I pledge to continue to work hard and advocate for all residents as we work together as one team to make Roseland the best place it can be to live and raise a family.
Thank you to my running mate, Matt Biront for his hard work and his dedication. I am grateful to have had the chance to meet and work with Matt over the past several months and I am excited that he will be staying involved and dedicating his time and energy to the betterment of the Borough. Congratulations to Councilwoman Michele Tolli on her re-election. I look forward to serving another 3 years together.
My wife Jen and my daughters Cara and Emma have been with me through my campaigns as well as through my term and although they do not complain and are happy for everything that I do for Roseland, balancing family, work, and council responsibilities is challenging and time consuming and I would like to thank them for their love and their support.
I really can’t say enough about our campaign team led by Sue Butterfield, Neal Goldstein, and Kevin Codey. I appreciate your hard work and dedication throughout this election. Mayor James Spango and Councilmembers Eileen Fishman, Moose Trillo, and Roger Freda were an integral part of this campaign team and provided support and guidance along the way. I appreciate your friendship and I look forward to continuing to work together. Special thanks to Roseland Democratic Chairman Julius Coltre and all of our Democratic elected officials at the local, county, state, and federal level who provided their support to my candidacy and my campaign.
In closing, we have done so much together in the past 3 years and I couldn’t be more honored to continue to serve the residents of Roseland. My work will continue and together we will focus on things that matter most to Roseland, continuing to keep Roseland an affordable and attractive place to live and raise a family. I could not be prouder to be your councilman. Stay safe and stay healthy and enjoy the upcoming holiday season!
