CALDWELL, NJ — The Rotary Club of the Caldwells recently presented a check for $5,000 to the Friends of the Montclair Animal Shelter, which is currently looking to find permanent homes for some of the animals.

Addressing the Rotary Club of the Caldwells at its regular meeting held at the Cloverleaf Tavern on June 14, Friends of the Montclair Animal Shelter’s Lisa Arata discussed the recent fire. Arata said all animals were evacuated and sent out for fostering at residents' homes.

Anyone who would like to help may contribute monetary donations, food and or a permanent home for one or more of the animals.

The Friends of the Montclair Animal Shelter has also started an online fundraiser to cover short-term repairs that can get animals and staff back into its building and then a more extensive remodeling of the aged building. The campaign’s goal is $225.

Friends of the Montclair Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, so all donations are tax deductible.
