LIVINGSTON, NJ — Sobel & Co., LLC hosted two powerful networking events for local businesswomen in November that taught young professionals how to “dress for success” this season during the Livingston-based accounting firm’s quarterly Young Professional Women’s Roundtable and encouraged those at the monthly Executive Women’s Leadership Breakfast to understand their clients’ values.

The Young Professional Women’s Roundtable invited presenter Nancy Alfano of Style Solutions to discuss how to go “from professional to party” by mixing wardrobe basics like a simple black dress or cigarette pants with 2017-18 style trends like a “moto” jackets and statement sleeves. With Alfano’s help, the women learned how to turn their business-appropriate attire into both holiday party wear and casual, everyday clothes.

“We are really known for couture clothing at read-to-wear prices,” said Alfano. “You want to look at certain things you want to invest in, and then as your career grows and your budget grows, you can look to invest further. The most important thing is always to start with your basics and when you’re ready to upgrade your basics, then that becomes the foundation of your wardrobe.”

Make-up artists were also on hand to give individual mini-makeovers to those interested in learning the “fresh face” trends of the season and how to improve their “look” for their careers and personal lives.

Alfano offered participants the opportunity to book appointments with her in order to find ways to maximize their wardrobes.

“You will find that I am always very honest and I am not looking just to sell you something,” she said. “I’m really looking to make sure that the piece that you get is really what will work not only for your purpose, for your lifestyle, but also for your entire closet.”

During the event, a round of Sobel Bingo helped guests to network and learn more about each other’s businesses.

A week later at the Sobel & Co. Executive Women's Leadership Breakfast, the theme was "Premium Service is a Year-Round Season." WAVEWORK founder and CEO Jessica Gaffney shared her experiences regarding how to empower an organization to deliver "White-glove Concierge Service" to its most sophisticated and valuable clients and customers.

Guests discovered practical ideas that could help them elevate their year-round premium experience, driving engagement and increasing retention by adding value.

During this event, diapers, wipes and related products for infants and toddlers were also collected for WomenRising, a non-profit organization that is on a mission to assist women and their families to achieve self-sufficiency and live safe, productive and fulfilling lives, through social services, economic development, and advocacy services.
