WEST CALDWELL, NJ - Three players from James Caldwell High School have been named to the Super Essex Conference All-Liberty Division First Team.
Carlie Corrigan, Nicolette Luzzi and Jacy Murphy each were honored as first-teamers. Corrigan was 8-3 as a pitcher, with 68 strikeouts and only 21 walks allowed in 78 innings. She also batted .333 and hit seven doubles.
Luzzi paced the Chiefs in home runs, with seven, and batting average, hitting .480. She also scored 25 runs.
Murphy contributed a .320 batting avereage with five doubles and 14 RBI.
Two Caldwell players, Taylor Stafford and Bridget Nichols, landed on Second Team. Stafford batted .441 and led the team with 26 hits. Nichols had a 5-2 pitching record with 40 strikeouts and just nine walks allowed in 44 innings pitched.
Honorable mention went to Caldwell players Ashleigh Bryant and Nina Andrews. Caldwell finished its season with a 17-7 record, tying with Millburn for the division title.
