NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - The West Essex softball team scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings that helped decided a 3-1 victory over Indian Hills on Tuesday.

Alexa Vardiman went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI for West Essex (9-2), which broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth inning.

Sami Huetter scattered five hits, struck out seven batters and walked two for West Essex. Julia Vardiman had a hit and scored a run in the victory.
