Softball: West Essex Romps Over Montclair, 14-1

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Bridget Betley drove in five runs to power the West Essex varsity softball team to a 14-1 victory over Montclair on Thursday.

Betley finished with four hits, including a double, and scored three runs for West Essex (11-2), which scored three runs in the fifth and capped the scoring with six more runs in the sixth inning.

The Lady Knights' hit parade also included three safeties apiece for Alexa Vardiman and Julia Vardiman, and two hits for each of three players: Alexandra Apito, Lilly James and Madison Gemma. West Essex finished with 18 hits.

Winning pitcher Sami Huetter struck out 10 batters in five innings and allowed just three hits. Betley pitched a perfect sixth inning to finish up.

You see, that’s the number of lucky Americans who had their personal data purloined in a massive data breach at Equifax, the credit reporting agency.  At least I am not alone.

 

I checked the special Equifax website the other day ...
