West Caldwell Artist to be Featured in Upcoming Fine Art Exhibit

MORRISTOWN, NJ — An upcoming fine art exhibit presented by the Northern New Jersey art group Partners in Paint (PiP) will include the work of West Caldwell resident Marilyn Rose, an award-winning artist whose piece entitled “At The Station” is pictured above.

The exhibit, located at the Art Upstairs Gallery of the MAYO Performing Arts Center in Morristown, will feature 36 paintings in watercolor, oils, pastels, acrylics and graphite. It will be open from Aug. 7 through Sept. 18, with a “meet the artists” reception being held on Aug. 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The reception is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

Artwork from fellow PiP members Judy Balance of Rockaway, Medy Bozkurtian of East Hanover, Nina Harlan of Succasunna, Jinnie May of Randolph, John Wolff of Livingston, Karen Tighe of Succasunna, Doreen Tighe of Newton and Susan VanArendonk of Morristown will also be displayed in this exhibit.

PiP is a group of artists who for the last 10 years have been getting together and sharing their artistic knowledge and ideas in the form of a monthly critique group to provide honest and constructive feedback resulting in great artistic strides, as well as forming strong friendships. Members work in various mediums, styles and subject matters, producing award-winning paintings, many of which have been published in several art books and have sold to numerous collectors both in the United States and abroad. 

The members also belong to many national and international art societies and have shown their work at The Salmagundi Club and The National Arts Club in NYC, as well as in museums and prominent venues in the tri-state area, and are represented in many established galleries.    

MAYO Performing Arts Center is located at 100 South Street in Morristown.

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
