"West Caldwell Council President Michael Docteroff is seeking his second full three-year term and Councilwoman Candidate Kathy Canale is seeking her second full three-year term. Both candidates are long-time residents and have extensive involvement in the community.

"On behalf of the West Caldwell Republican County Committee, we are very pleased with these candidates and we feel strongly that both will continue to represent our community well.”

About Council President Docteroff:

Docteroff has served the community of West Caldwell for many years as a volunteer in recreation athletics as well as the Caldwell Athletic Organization, and he has served as president of the Caldwell Gridiron Club. He has also served as a member of the West Caldwell Zoning Board of Adjustment and is also currently serving as a volunteer member of the West Caldwell Planning Board.

Docteroff, a graduate of Manhattan College with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems, is an entrepreneur in the field of technology, serving as president of M.A.D. Technologies, which offers consulting expertise primarily in the area of technology for the Hospitality Industry.

He is married to Stacy Veneri Docteroff and has two children, Lauren, 24, who currently works for Sony Corporation, and a son, Jack, 21, a junior student at Montclair State University.

About Councilwoman Canale:

Canale has lived in West Caldwell most of her life and currently serves as chair of the recreation committee and vice chair of the Department of Public Works (DPW). She has also served the community in many other volunteer capacities, including volunteer coaching for the Caldwell-West Caldwell recreation basketball and soccer programs as well as teaching CCD for the Parish Of Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church. She has also served with the Home School Associations in various schools in Caldwell and West Caldwell.

Canale graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Marketing and has worked for various corporations, including Adidas, Ann Taylor and Ralph Lauren. She also worked for many years for the now-retired Kupcho family business, Pine Florist in Verona.

She is currently employed as an Assistant Department Manager at Nordstrom Garden State Plaza. She is married to Gary and has three children: Madison, who attends the University of Maine, Claudia, a senior at James Caldwell High School (JCHS), who will be heading out to San Diego State University in the fall, and Julia, a junior at JCHS.

A note form Council President Michael Docteroff:

“It is important that we continue to make decisions that are in the best interests of our residents and businesses by listening to them. Being visible to the public everyday while listening to their concerns and trying to help them on any issues big or small is paramount. Councilwoman Canale I along with all of our colleagues on the West Caldwell Governing Body truly care about our community and its citizens.”

A note from Councilwoman Kathy Canale:

“I am excited for the opportunity to re-run for the West Caldwell Council. I have always believed we should strive to keep the character of our community the same despite economic pressures. West Caldwell is a great place to live, work, and raise a family and it is a safe community. I look forward to continuing the challenges that lie ahead to keep our community that way.”

In the coming weeks, Canale and Docteroff will select a campaign team and announce them at a kickoff event planned on May 23. The team looks forward to a healthy debate on the issues and looks forward to a positive campaign in the fall.

June 18, 2018

About a month ago, on May 15, 2018, something happened to me and my family that changed our lives. The tree fell into my 8 month old’s bedroom destroying the entire structure of our home.

My husband, with what I call divine intervention, told us to go ...
