WEST CALDWELL, NJ - The Orchard School has begun the 2018-2019 school year with a mission to help kids adjust to the changes that being back in class entails.
According to "KidsHealth," some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school.
"Luckily, these 'new' worries only stick around for a little while," KidsHealth states.
September is not only the month marking the start of a new school year, but it’s also a month where children begin to digest the thoughts and feelings about the environment and new faces around them.
“Our mission to make your child feel as if Orchard School is just home away from home as it is for me,” said Erin Moss, director of The Orchard School in West Caldwell.
The first days of school can seem tough for little ones, as they are introduced to a whole new routine, according to Moss. The Orchard School attempts to make it easy for them—to make them want to wake up and go to school every day.
“As a new school year begins, we prepare for a successful year full of fun activities and of course, academic learning,” Moss said.
The school conducts many arts and crafts projects throughout the year, and this month is fall-themed.
Orchard School parents are invited to many of the activities that are planned throughout the year. In the fall, they are encouraged to come along on apple-and pear-picking trips.
